Deluxe Detailing started with two mates in Rangiora who thought car care in North Canterbury could be done better — properly, patiently, and without cutting corners. Quality over quantity, every car, every time. That's still the whole philosophy.

Where it started
Year 13
Deluxe Detailing started in Year 13 — David and Murphy were tired of working part-time jobs that had nothing to do with what they actually cared about. So instead, they started detailing cars. What began as a way to stop working someone else's shift roster became a real business, and a way to spend their time on an actual passion for vehicles.

Deluxe Detailing went on to represent the region at the YES National Final in Wellington, competing against businesses from across the country and placing in the top 5 overall.

Our goals
Deluxe Detailing is still growing, and we like it that way. Our goal is simple: become North Canterbury's benchmark for mobile detailing — the name people trust without a second thought. We're building that alongside our own goals too. David's finishing his engineering degree; Murphy's working on a clothing label. Different paths, same standard — quality over quantity, every car, every time.
David Moore
Co-founder
David is the one keeping the business running behind the scenes — the planning, the bookings, the logistics — while still getting his hands dirty on the tools alongside Murphy. He leads with honesty, believes resilience and self-belief are the root of any real goal, and tries to bring a bit of kindness to everything he does. Obsessively detail-focused, David is only satisfied when a job's done properly — no shortcuts. He's working to grow Deluxe Detailing while finishing his engineering degree.
Murphy Howard
Co-founder
Murphy is behind the camera and the ideas as much as he's behind the buffer — handling Deluxe Detailing's creative marketing while detailing vehicles right alongside David. He runs on respect, kindness and integrity, treating every car and every client the same way regardless of the job. Murphy's building toward two things at once: growing the business into something bigger, and eventually launching his own clothing brand.
